About The Class

This hands-on workshop is perfect if you're a current or aspiring PA (Production Assistant) wanting more skills and experience! Since many PAs have never worked with certain kinds of lights or other on-set tools, this day-long class – taught by industry professionals that have honed their skills over years – is tailor-made to get you knowledgeable and familiar with essential tools of the trade. So when someone asks you for something, or wants you to quickly set something up, you'll know exactly what they're talking about. This class will include working with a variety of tools in a typical grip truck (lights, modifiers, etc.), various stands and fixtures, and though this is not a lighting class, you’ll certainly learn a lot about what they do and how they compare.

Full Description

In this workshop, we'll be setting up and showing you how to work with these pieces of gear and more:

  • Doorway dolly
  • Sliders
  • Proper Camera and Lens Etiquette
  • Flags and Silks
  • Hazers and Foggers
  • LED and Tungsten Lights
  • 8x8 and 4x4 frames
  • Various Production gear tips and tricks
  • Walkie Talkie Protocols
  • Plus best practices when working with C-stands, hot lights, carts, sandbags, tape, 5-ton grip trucks and more!
